THE DOCHUSH PROJECT
Helping you check what you share.
DocHush is a software project focused on PDF redaction and checking the files that leave your computer. This website and its guides are maintained under the DocHush project name.
What you can use today
The free PDF redaction checker runs in your browser and reports findings alongside the limits of its checks. It does not upload your document. Its code, build information and test fixtures are published in the checker repository.
DocHush 1.0 for Windows finds, reviews, removes and checks sensitive information in PDFs on your computer. See the release notes for system requirements, installation help and pricing. The homepage animations and the interface examples in our guides illustrate the workflow with fictional documents.
Who writes the guides
The guides on this site carry the byline of Alexia Caroline, Chief Marketing Officer at DocHush. She is responsible for their content, sources and corrections. The byline identifies the DocHush team’s own writing; it is not an independent review or a professional qualification in law, medicine or finance.
Each guide is prepared the same way:
- Start with a document task and explain the workflow step by step.
- Link to primary sources and distinguish source-based instructions from hands-on tests.
- Use fictional examples, never customer documents, in public demonstrations.
- For hands-on examples, identify the files, tool version, settings and observed result. State what the check could not establish.
- Use interface illustrations to explain document decisions and review steps.
- Update a guide’s date when its substance changes, and correct errors when found.
Our two-file checking example uses downloadable, generated PDFs. It demonstrates one failure pattern and one comparison file; it is not a benchmark of every PDF type or a desktop export test.
